Books

Please be informed that for all eBook sales, you are requested to refer to the FAQ and the terms and conditions set by our trusted partner eSentral. All terms and conditions below apply only to physical copies of books purchased directly from Star Media Group Berhad.

By ordering the book(s), you agree that you have read, understood and accepted the terms and conditions below. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not order/subscribe or alternatively, you may contact our toll free number, 1-300-88-7827 or email us at 'customerservice@thestar.com.my' for further clarification.

  1. When you order the book(s), you are making an offer to order, which if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. We reserve the right not to accept or process your order without reason.
  2. Kindly place your order at https://bookstore.thestar.com.my/ furnish your full address and contact number to facilitate shipment.
  3. Request for changes in shipping address and/or particulars of order shall be made within five (5) working days from the date of your order (“Grace Period”). Any amendment after the Grace Period will not be entertained. Difference in payment, if any, should be remitted to us based on the changes made by you within five (5) working days.
  4. We require four (4) to six (6) weeks to process your order and to deliver the same to your shipping address. We shall not be held responsible for failure or delay to deliver the book(s) if you have supplied us with an incorrect shipping address.
  5. It shall be deemed that the book(s) have been duly delivered to you if there is no report to any losses and/or damages within seven (7) days from date of delivery (“Report”). We shall replace book(s) that are lost and/or damaged due to shipment within two (2) weeks from the date of the Report. In the case of damaged copy, the copy should be returned to us as proof.
  6. Should you wish to cancel your order, please contact our Customer Service Hotline 1-300-88-7827 or email:customerservice@thestar.com.my. We reserve the absolute discretion to approve or reject your request for cancellation. For cancellation of your order, you shall be responsible for the payment of an administrative charge of RM20. Notwithstanding anything stated to the contrary, no cancellation will be entertained once your book(s) have been shipped to your shipping address.
  7. The price of the book(s) displayed is excluding additional delivery costs and taxes imposed by the respective authorities which shall be borne by you separately.
  8. If your order contains a supplemental gift, such gift will be delivered to your shipping address within two (2) months from the date of first delivery of your book(s) or such other longer delivery period as we deem fit and appropriate. You are obliged to take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety standards and the general appropriateness of the supplemental gift offered to you. You shall exercise due diligence and care when using the supplemental gift for yourself and/or any third party and to the extent permitted by laws, you shall release from and indemnify us against all liability, cost, loss and/or expenses arising out of your use of any of the supplemental gift including (but not limited to) loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and damage to your property, whether direct or consequential or foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
  9. Supplemental gift is not exchangeable for cash consideration. In the event the supplemental gist is unavailable, we reserve the absolute discretion to substitute and/or replace the supplemental gift with any other product, which is of equivalent value. We will not entertain any complaints as to the quality of the supplemental gift provided to you.
  10. We reserve the absolute right to review and vary the terms and conditions contained herein at any time and you will be notified accordingly of such review and variation.
  11. By agreeing to the terms and conditions contained herein, you hereby allow The Star media group to collect your Personal Information to be regulated and managed by The Star Media Group. You also hereby agree to receive the latest information about products, news and events updates, rewards and promotions, special privileges and initiatives from The Star Media Group, its partners and advertisers.   12. These terms and conditions are governed by the applicable laws of Malaysia and you hereby agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
